Vulnerability to Fingerprint Biometric Systems- An Overview
نویسنده
چکیده
A biometric is defined as a unique, measurable, biological characteristic or trait for automatically recognizing or verifying the identity of a human being. These days, biometric technologies are typically used to analyze human characteristics for security purposes. In spite of numerous advantages of biometric based personal authentication systems over traditional security systems based on token or knowledge, they are vulnerable to attacks that can decrease their security considerably. This paper is confined to the analysis of these attacks in regard of fingerprint biometric systems, and presents several measures to prevent them at the end.

Biometric Authentication of Fingerprint for Banking Users, Using Stream Cipher Algorithm
Providing banking services, especially online banking and electronic payment systems, has always been associated with high concerns about security risks. In this paper, customer authentication for their transactions in electronic banking has been discussed, and a more appropriate way of using biometric fingerprint data, as well as encrypting those data in a different way, has been suggest...
متن کاملRobustness of Multi Biometric Authentication Systems against Spoofing
Nowadays biometric authentication systems have been more developed, especially in secure and financial systems; so cracking a biometric authentication system is now a growing concern. But their security has not received enough attention. Imitating a biometric trait of a genuine user to deceive a system, spoofing, is the most important attacking method. Multi biometric systems have been develope...
متن کاملFingerprint-Based Recognition
Biometric recognition, or biometrics, refers to the authentication of an individual based on her or his biometric traits. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, voice), fingerprint-based authentication has the longest history, and it has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications. Advances in fingerprint capture technology have resulted in n...
متن کاملMultimodal Biometric System Using Iris - Fingerprint: An Overview
Biometric recognition is automated recognition of individual based on the physiological and behavioral characteristics. Unimodal biometrics are facing problems like noisy data, intra class variation, inter class variation, spoofing attack etc. These limitations can be solved by using multimodal biometrics. Comparing to unimodal, multimodal biometric systems are performing better. A multimodal b...
